For every actor, there comes a point where they are challenged to take on a role, they have never done before, and that very fact excites them. Rakul Preet Singh is latest to take up a project that will stretch her limits. In Sai Dharam Tej’s next, she will be playing a go-getter young athlete. It’s a role we have never seen her play before, moreover, it will be a far cry from her otherwise bubbly characters. Get ready to see a side of Rakul we haven’t set our eyes on, before this.
“Trust me, this role will be unlike any I’ve done so far in my career. I play a go-getting young athlete who will not settle for anything less than what she dreams of in her life. It’s a very no-nonsense character and that’s what resonated with me when director Gopichand narrated it to me,” reveals the actress to a leading daily. When asked if she would go the length of flaunting ripping muscles, she mentioned that she will definitely look her fittest for this role, as she’s playing a hard-core athlete. What’s going to be harder, more than the workouts, is not having anymore cheat days! The actress seems to be more concerned about missing out on food than the extra workout sessions. A true foodie indeed!
She is currently shooting for AR Murugadoss’ untitled project opposite Mahesh Babu. It’s claimed to be an out and out actioner. The project is reportedly going to be made on high budget of Rs 90 crore. Talking about working with both of them for the first time, Rakul says, “Murugadoss sir has given me freedom to do whatever I want to. All I can say is that it will be a character that will set a new benchmark for Tollywood both in terms of style and characterisation. And Mahesh is such a fabulous person as well as a performer, it’s been one helluva learning experience already.” She is also going to be part of Ram Charan’s Dhruva which is the Telugu remake of Thani Oruvan. The movie also stars Navdeep Singh and Arvind Swamy. The movie was to release this October but it has been pushed to December.
