We bet Katrina Kaif will be super thrilled after hearing this good news! The actress has been a little low, her recent release Baar Baar Dekho failed to perform at the box office, on personal front too the actress suffered a heart break post split with beau Ranbir Kapoor. The actress will be the recipient of the prestigious Smita Patil Memorial Award this year for her contribution to the Hindi film industry. Katrina isn’t particularly known to win awards, she’s often seen performing at ceremonies. However, this honour would be extra special, especially since its bestowed in the name of one of Bollywood’s most talented heroines.
Although Baar Baar Dekho didn’t get great reviews, Kat’s abs got everyone talking. Kala Chashma is definitely the party anthem of the year and you just cannot help but stare at that hot bod of Katrina in the song. Ever since on her breakup, she’s undergone this metamorphosis and has been on a film signing spree. And now there’s something else that she to look forward to. Well, Katrina is going to honoured with the Smita Patil Memorial Award by the Priyadarshni Academy Global Award on September 19 in Mumbai. Now that’s awesome! Isn’t it? She is going to be awarded for being an outstanding individual who has shown excellence for her work in movies. The ceremony is sure going to be a glitzy affair!
The Priyadarshni Academy is an NGO engaged in socio-cultural and education activities and has been holding the awards event since 1984. Several internally renowned celebrities are also honoured at this global awards event.

Although her previous films like Baar Baar Dekho, Phantom and Fitoor failed to impress viewers, let us not forget she has been a part of some mega blockbuster hits like Dhoom 3, Ek Tha Tiger and Namastey London. Katrina’s popularity is unaffected by her break up or then the non performance of her films at the box office it seems. Coz the actress is all set to reunite with ex-lover Salman Khan in Ali Abbas Zafar’s next, Tiger Zinda Hai. Kat who played Salman’s love interest in the film’s prequel, Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger will be back shooting for a film with Khan after almost four years.

Katrina will next be seen in Jagga Jasoos with Ranbir Kapoor. She has recently been signed as the leading lady in Anand L Rai’s next which stars Shah Rukh Khan.
