Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar have to say something about your slut shaming remark!

Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar have to say something about your slut shaming remark!

The Highway babe’s recent interview was widely talked about for obvious reasons…

Alia Bhatt’s recent interview literally left us all shocked. The Dear Zindagi actress expressed her fears about coming out in the open about her personal relationship. Alia is currently dating her Student Of The Year co-star Sidharth Malhotra. When Bhatt gal was quizzed about Bollywood stars aping the west in most respects except when it comes to being open about their relationship, Alia said, “In India, you are a part of a society that’s very judgmental. Here, girls having multiple boyfriends is still a huge-ass deal and something that is frowned upon.” The actress used Taylor Swift’s example and added, “I mean, look at Taylor Swift. She’s dated, like, everybody. But if she was here, she’d be totally shamed for making those choices. Her image and appeal would be very different. The reason actresses don’t talk about their private lives is because in our society there is a lot of slut-shaming.”
BollywoodLife met up with the Pink team of Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar and asked them if they had any advice for Alia. Mr Bachchan was fiercely protective of the petite actress and spoke in favour of Alia. He even insisted that just because she’s a celebrity and makes for better headlines her relationships are reported. Shootjit had a special suggestion for Alia. Watch Big B and Shoojit’s reaction and advice to Alia…
Alia was further probed by the journo about her relationship with Sidharth and the actress replied – “Okay, suppose I say that but is it necessary that it stays that way? What if tomorrow I am not in love with him and feel differently about it? Then what? It’s not written in stone, is it?” Alia also has foreseen the drawback of opening up about personal affairs, she said – “And I don’t want to be in a position where they come after me because I broke up with a dude. “Oh, aapka break-up ho gaya, ab agla kaun? Who’s next?” This shallow and stupid thinking is just the reality of our society which doesn’t allow women to be the way they’d like to be — free and independent.”
Amitabh Bachchan in the same interview also talked about the hot topics of gender equality in the industry and pay scale issue. The actor’s revelation that Deepika Padukone was paid more than him in Piku was both candid and applause worthy. Mr Bachchan also insisted that he would like to follow Shah Rukh Khan’s footsteps and requested filmmaker Shoojit Sircar to give the ladies a preference over him in the credit rolls just like SRK did for Deepika. Big B had also penned an open letter to his grand daughters Navya Naveli Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan, which went viral on social media. Clearly besides Pink the actor has managed to stay in news for other reasons too.
