Akshay Kumar, Annu Kapoor and makers of Jolly LLB 2 summoned to appear before the court on February 22

The case is filed by Bata India LTD for showing disparaging comments about Bata in the trailer.

Akshay Kumar‘s Jolly LLB 2 is earning big money at the box office, the film has earned Rs 30.51 crore at the box office. The makers and Akshay Kumar will be in a Jolly mood looking at the collections of the film. But not for long as the Court has asked the relevant people involved with Jolly LLB 2 movie – Fox studios, Akshay Kumar, Annu Kapoor, producers etc. (showing disparaging comments about Bata) to be summoned to appear before the Ld. ACMM Court, Saket on February 22, 2017. Yes it is about the case Bata India LTD filed against the makers of the film after Annu Kapoor was seen mouthing a dialogue in the trailer that stated, “Varna kya? Bata ka joota pehan kar, tuchhi si terricot ki shirt pehan kar, saala hum se zabaan lada rahe hain.” The dialogue however was changed from the film to “fata hua joota” instead of ‘Bata’, after Bata India LTD objected to it.
On the other hand, Fox Studios, makers of Jolly LLB 2 have shared a statement with the court that they have taken a decision to discontinue the impugned trailer with immediate effect and shall not include the impugned scene in the film. They also assured the Court that they shall issue immediate instructions for pulling down the impugned trailer from internet.

Released on February 10, Jolly LLB 2 is a sequel to 2013 surprise hit Jolly LLB. The prequel starred Arshad Warsi in the lead and who was replaced by Akshay Kumar in the second part. The film also starred Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla (as Judge Sunderlal Tripathi), the only returning character from the first film.
