Singer Abhijeet is certainly becoming a poster boy for those who want to rant against Pakistan in the prevailing scenario. Yes, the singer has been extremely vociferous in his opinions against Pakistani artistes working in India. He did not spare even Salman Khan after the superstar came out in support of Pakistani actors at an event yesterday. He tweeted that how superstars live in their own world and are unaware of how soldiers are dying at the border. He said they are busy shooting with stars from Pakistan.
In his latest tweet, he wrote that Indian and Pakistani artistes love the money, love and fame they get from Indians. They said both are anti-India and against the Indian Army. He also hastagged Salman Khan on that post. Well, did Abhijeet just call Salman Khan anti-national. The Tubelight actor after his statement yesterday has evoked strong reactions from people. Many felt that Bhai should have been more circumspect considering the delicate situation prevailing in the nation.
He was quoted as saying, “”Ideal situation should’ve been of peace but if this thing happened (Uri attacks) there has to be a reaction to that action but in this day and age I think if we live with love and peace it’ll be better for everyone, especially common man. They were artists, not terrorists, these are two different subjects. What you think? That artists are terrorists? They come with valid visa, who provides them with visa? our Government, our govt provides them work permit.”

The statement drew a lot of flak from the MNS, which is leading the tirade of banning Pakistani artistes from working in India. They have told Karan Johar to replace Fawad Khan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shah Rukh Khan to remove Mahira Khan from Raees. Shiv Sena secretary Sanjay Raut lambasted Salman Khan saying, “When the country is in peril and there is prospect of war against Pakistan, his father Salim Khan should put his Salman under house arrest, because one doesn’t know what he will say when and insult his father. No one in his (Salman) family has died for the country, therefore he keeps blabbering. One one hand, Salim Khan gives ‘Vande Mataram’ slogan, takes a firm line against Pakistan, he raises voices against ills in the Muslim religion and Salman Khan being from the same family, speaks like a fool. Cine stars or those from the Indian film industry, their lips should be permanently sewn, especially Salman Khan.”

Abhijeet’s statement has also earned him a lot of appreciation from many quarters. After the September attack in Jammu and Kashmir which killed 19 soldiers, there are strong reactions across the nation. The ultimatum to Pakistani artistes to leave India has got divided opinions from Bollywood. Even Indian channel Zindagi has announced plans to stop beaming syndicated Pakistani shows — which has been its USP since its launch in 2014.”
