Dangal actress Zaira Wasim's lesser known facts which you cannot miss
‘Dangal’ girl Zaira Wasim trolled for meeting J&K Chief Minister
Kashmir
girl Zaira Wasim, who gained popularity with Aamir Khan-starrer
‘Dangal,’ recently became target of social media trolls. The 16-year old
was trolled for her meeting with J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
As Zaira posted a picture of herself and Mufti from the meeting, the
social media went berserk and began slamming her. “...the one who
destroyed the future of thousands of Kashmiris” is what one user had to
say about the J&K CM. After removing this post, Zaira, in another
post, sent out an apology for her meeting with Mufti and clarified that
she hadn’t been forced to do so. Eventually, she deleted that post too.
Right now, she might be in news for all the wrong reasons but just a few
weeks ago, Zaira was being talked about for her powerful performance in
‘Dangal.’ Let’s have a look at some of the lesser known facts about the
young actress...
Zaira Wasim's family was against her decision to be in films
Zaira
Wasim played the role of younger version of Geeta Phogat in ‘Dangal’
and has surely done her parents proud by her ‘dhaakad’ performance. But
there was a time when Zaira’s parents were not in favour of her being
part of the filmdom. However, the actress eventually managed to convince
her parents and became part of ‘Dangal.’ With her great acting skills,
Zaira has not only won the hearts of audience but has also proved that
she was cut out for the world lights, camera and action.
‘Dangal ’wasn’t Zaira Wasim’s first experience in front of the camera
Zaira
Wasim has worked as a child artist on television much before appearing
in ‘Dangal.’ Zaira's first TV commercial was for Tata Sky which was shot
in her home state. She also appeared in an ad for Nokia Lumia, which
was shot in Almora, Uttarakhand. Her journey from ads to films is
nothing short of inspirational. This girl has surely come a long way!
Zaira Wasim gives equal importance to films and studies
Zaira
Wasim is just a 16-year old and is still studying apart from working in
films. While her film career has kicked off with a bang with ‘Dangal,’
she has said in an interview that she would take up more film offers
only if it doesn’t affect her studies. She has been quoted as saying,
““I take life as it comes. If another film offer comes my way and
doesn’t affect my studies I will take it up.” Zaira will next be seen
playing a lead role in Aamir Khan-produced ‘Secret Superstar.’
Zaira Wasim had to beat around 19,000 girls to grab ‘Dangal’
Over
19,000 girls had auditioned for the role Zaira Wasim played in
‘Dangal.’ Bagging the role of young Geeta Phogat was surely a herculean
task but Zaira somehow managed to do it. The actress had to chop her
hair off for the role, which she deeply regretted. Zaira also suffered
injuries during the training of ‘Dangal.’ She even had to go through
tough training of body building and learn swimming in order to get into
the skin of her character.
