Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s Befikre in TROUBLE with the CBFC over excessive kissing scenes?

With the film’s song – Labon Ka Karobaar featuring dozens of kisses, the Censor chief is sharpening his scissors..

The Central Board Of Film Certification (the CBFC aka the Censor Board) is anticipating trouble ahead over the number of smooches shared by Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor in Aditya Chopra’s Befikre. Not only has the couple been spotted kissing away in all the promotional clippings, there’s an entire song devoted to the art of kissing called Labon Ka Karobar, where couples of both genders and of all ages are seen locking lips throughout.
The Board, says sources, is apprehensive about how so many kisses could possibly be given a go-ahead when earlier there were objections to two lingering liplocks between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in Tamasha and when producers of Daniel Craig-starrer Spectre were asked to cut scenes out, when some smooches went on for too long.

Pahlaj Nihalani, the Censor Board chief, says they will wait it out and see how it goes. He says, “The song Labon Ka Karobar has not come to us. It is out on the internet and therefore falls outside our purview. As for the kisses in Befikre, they have to be seen within the film’s context. As far as I know, Befikre is set in Paris, the city of love where public affection is normal. However as I said, we will look at the film and its content when it comes to us.”
Recently, the CBFC has faced a lot of protest for the excessive cuts that it suggests even though it is a certification body. When Shahid Kapoor‘s Udta Punjab was about to release, the CBFC had ordered nearly 100 changes. The makers appealed in the court, where the won the case! If it does come down to excessive cuts, Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Films have the option to appeal the Tribunal or the court too!

Befikre is about the crazy romance between Ranveer and Vaani’s character. According to our sources, this is going to be YRF’s most wildest film with Ranveer showing off his butt and the actors sharing more than 27 smooches! Ain’t that surprising? However, we will have to wait and watch to know if Befikre faces issues with the Censor Board or not… Till then check out the latest song from the film right here:
