Baar Baar Dekho box office collection day 5: Katrina and Sidharth’s film earns Rs. 26. 28 crores so far

After five days at the box office, Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif film earned 26. 28 cr in total.

 

 

Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra‘s Baar Baar Dekho was touted as a breakthrough film in Hindi cinema which can make time travel stories relevant in India. However, the film hasn’t lived up to its expectations! Baar Baar Dekho was expected to open to full houses and earn a lot of money at the box office, however it had a rather sluggish start on day 1 as it collected just Rs 6.81 crore on the first day. And even though it saw a growth on the first Saturday, the film has just managed to earn Rs 14.46 crore in 2 days. Generally Sunday sees a good jump because it’s a holiday but BBD saw a drop. Such a rarity! Now after five days the film has earned 26. 28 cr.
Trade Analyst, Taran Adarsh, revealed the figures on Twitter saying, “#BaarBaarDekho Fri 6.81 cr, Sat 7.65 cr, Sun 6.70 cr, Mon 2.37 cr, Tue 2.75 cr. Total: ₹ 26.28 cr. India biz.” It may not have dropped drastically yesterday and stayed steady but it doesn’t mean it is doing great. First Mondays are always important to set the tune for a profitable first week. But with such a massive drop in business, we wonder what will become of this film. From a 6. 70 cr Sunday, it went down to just 2. 37 cr which is even lesser than the first day income of Freaky Ali (2. 55 cr). The film started showing the drop from the weekend itself as you can see that the Sunday numbers are lesser than Saturday. Tuesday however saw it stay put at the box office without sliding much. However, Katrina and Sidharth’s Baar Baar Dekho appealed to the foreign audience and it had performed very well in the Gulf and the USA. As an official report reveals, “Baar Baar Dekho has opened well overseas. Thu + Fri $800k (Rs 5.20 cr) Smaller territories yet to report. Break up – UAE $400k. USA $200k. UK £54k. Aus A$43k. Pak $75k.”  This year, several films including Sultan, Fan, Baaghi, Kapoor & Sons and a few others have performed well at the international box office. And looks like Baar Baar Dekho might join the pack too. However, the Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra-starter has disappointed at the domestic box office. Despite managing to attain 2600 screens for exhibition, the numbers are highly disappointing.
