Salman Khan’s dancer dad film is a dream project, says Remo D’souza – watch EXCLUSIVE Interview

Salman Khan‘s nod to Remo D’souza‘s dance drama is probably the first good thing that we have got to hear this New Year. Salmaniacs have been going bananas ever since they have heard the news of their collaboration. The film, which will go on floors next year in 2018, will follow the journey of an ageing dancer dad (to be played by Salman Khan) and his ambitious 13-year-old daughter. The Sultan actor will start prepping up for his role sometime soon as he will have to shed some kilos and undergo intense dance training to get into the character.
At the launch of his Mobile App – The Remo D’Souza Official App, the choreographer-director told us that he is super excited about the dance drama as it’s his dream project. He also revealed that Salman has really liked the script and hence he,too, is looking forward to begin shooting the film. We know that Remo had approached Salman with the script way back in 2015 and it seems that Salman was his first choice for the role of dancer dad.

It was being said that Remo will have a tough time choreographing Salman as he is known for his impromptu dance steps and not adhering to the choreographer’s instructions. But Remo doesn’t feel it will be difficult to choreograph the superstar. While talking to the media at the launch, he revealed that he is a big fan of Salman and considers him as his favorite actor. He is looking forward to directing the film as the actor is very dear to him and Remo feels that nothing is better than working with a person who is close to you. On December 27, Remo was also present at Khan’s birthday bash at his Panvel farmhouse.
Despite of the film’s script being ready since long, it was kept on hold since Salman had no dates at the time. Remo therefore involved himself in Tiger Shroff’s superhero film: A Flying Jatt. Salman, too, got busy with Kabir Khan’s war-drama, Tubelight. The actor is said to kick off Ali Abbas Zafar directorial Tiger Zinda Hai sometime in 2017 so it seems that Remo’s turn will come only in 2018. Nevertheless, we are sure his fans are ready to wait to see him play a dad. Agree ?
