Dahleez actress Tridha Choudhury to play Bollywood superstar in Vikram Bhatt’s webseries Spotlight
The show also stars Arif Zakaria, Sid Makkar, Krunal Pandit and Rajesh Khera
After tasting success in regional cinema and small screen, Bong bombshell Tridha Choudhury is all set to rule the web world. She is on track to experience stardom in Vikram Bhatt’s
new premium show that has a working title – ‘Spotlight’. This premium
show is set to be launched next month on Vuclip’s OTT video on demand
service Viu.
“A stint in regional movies, a successful TV show and now making my debut in a Vikram Bhatt show on Viu! It’s going to be a new experience for me and I am super excited,” beamed Tridha Choudhury. Spotlight, penned by Vikram Bhatt himself, is the story of a small town girl’s meteoric rise to becoming the reigning ‘Queen’ of Bollywood who lives life on her own terms. The show also covers her quest for true love in an industry where love is elusive as well as the other emotional hurdles she overcomes to corner the spotlight.
So what’s her role in the show all about?
“I play the role of Sana, a Bollywood Superstar. As actors, we enjoy the thrill of living vicariously through our characters. As I see it, this role includes different shades of grey between black and white and my character explores every hue,” she said.
Does ‘Queen’ Tridha succeed in finding love?
“Let me just say my character in this show seems to have an affinity for married men. We know how such relationships end scandalously, don’t we?” said Tridha.
The show also stars Arif Zakaria, Sid Makkar, Krunal Pandit and Rajesh Khera. ‘Spotlight’ is directed by Suhail Tatari and will be part of the ‘Viu Originals’ line up. Written by Bhatt, this show is co-produced by Viu, Bhatt and Culture Machine.
Making the announcement, Bollywood director, producer and scriptwriter Vikram Bhatt said, “There are two sides to the world of Bollywood – one which is glitzy and glamorous, something which the audience sees. There is also a dark side to it – one that is filled with struggle and personal strife. Spotlight tries to give the audience an insight into this reality, besides the emotional challenges faced by stars who are in the media and public eye.”
More updates about ’Spotlight’ can be got from Viu’s social handles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Viu can be accessed from www.viu.com or by downloading the Android app from Google Play and the iOS app from the Apple App Store.
