Purab Kohli looks BLOODY GOOD in the desi remake of Homeland, Prisoners of War – view pics!

Purab Kohli will play an Army Officer in Nikhil Advani's Prisoners of War that will air on Star Plus from October 14

 

 

 

Star Plus will air its big budget venture Prisoners of War from next month. The series is an official adaptation of the American show, Homeland. Directed by Nikhil Advani, it has Purab Kohli,  Sandhya Mridul, Satyadeep Mishra and Amrita Puri in lead roles. The thriller is set against the backdrop of the Kargil War. The first look of the show will be unveiled soon. Actor Purab Kohli plays the lead role on the soap. The actor went in for a total physical transformation for this show. He had to work hard to look like a prisoner. The actor plays a convict who escapes jail 17 years after he was falsely convicted along with his partner, Satyadeep Mishra. The show begins from October 14 and Purab is extremely kicked about it. The actor will also be seen as a Punjabi army officer.

The actor has to manage shoot for a couple of projects, which was quite a task. He will also be seen as KD in Rock On 2. He plays a drummer and his look is quite grungy unlike that in Prisoners Of War. The actor had to transform his look in the three months of shooting. The show is shot in Mumbai, North India in places like Delhi and Kashmir. The actor had to ensure that other directors are cool with his look.

Homeland, the US series also had Nimrat Kaur in the role of a terrorist. The original Israel series, Hatufilm is created by Gideon Raff. It means kidnapped in Hebrew. Hostage crisis is a very sensitive matter in Israel.

The country has a sizeable number of prisoners of war. When they return home, they feel labelled after every attack in the country. In Homeland, the US series brought a lot of laurels for the lead actors. Actress Claire Danes got the Emmy Award for her role of Carrie Mathieson. She plays an investigation officer of CIA with biopolar disorder. Actor Nicholas Brody plays the role of the US Marine who is suspected of being a spy. Hatufilm struck a chord for its drama, thrill and powerful emotions. The American version was obviously made with a much larger budget than the Israeli one. War, terrorism, propaganda are issues which every Indian is aware of by now. Prisoners of War seems to be a series that will thrill you and make us introspect deep within.

The actor had to keep his other directors in the loop about this project.
