Baby prequel Naam Shabana goes on the floor without Akshay Kumar?
Baby prequel Naam Shabana went on the floors with Taapsee Pannu. Akshay Kumar however will be seen in a cameo.
Before you jump to weird conclusion, the spin off of Baby is not a superstar story. In fact, it is about a woman’s struggle to reach a position so that she can recruited in the Baby mission. Basically, it’s a prequel. This is a journey of Taapsee Pannu’s character who was an integral part of the team. When we saw her pin her opponent down in Baby, we were so thrilled. The moves were tough but she did it with such ease many even applauded her true grit while watching that scene. And later Akshay Kumar‘s expression was priceless when he sees Taapsee has already slayed her attacker. Such a rush that gave and guess that’s why a prequel with woman’s perspective was thought of. The film today went on the floors with Taapsee. The actor however will be seen in a cameo.
Another adventurous journey begins…. #NaamShabana my first ever title role. Get ready for some serious action pic.twitter.com/JhYnO1Gv61— taapsee pannu (@taapsee) September 13, 2016
A unique attempt, for the very 1st time in Indian cinema.Get ready 2 be surprised, #NaamShabana coming ur way next yr pic.twitter.com/PIkawLcEQrNaam Shabana will chart Taapsee’s journey to qualify for Baby and will be one hell of a film. Taapsee will be joined by stars like Manoj Bajpayee and Prithviraj who was also seen in Aiyyaa. The plot of the prequel will revolve around the reason why she becomes an undercover agent. There would also be another actor who will be a part of the film who is yet to be finalised. While talking to a leading daily, Taapsee had said earlier, “I play the titular role in this action thriller and I am undergoing training in martial arts to prepare for the action scenes.” Akshay and Neeraj go a long way and are now the hit actor-director jodi of 2016. So it was only obvious for the director to have him in a special role in the film too.

The film was titled Meera before and Taapsee revealed to a portal why it was changed later. “The film has been named Naam Shabana because we are linking it to Baby, and my undercover name in Baby was Shabana Kaif.” That makes a lot of sense then naming it Meera which nullifies its connect to the previous film.
With the way people have warmed up to women-centric films this year, Naam Shabana can easily cash in on this wave and we will so like to see that happening.
