No actor is bigger than the show: Jennifer Winget
Actor Jennifer Winget says that TRP ratings are important for the show as well as its cast.
Television actor Jennifer Winget says an actor’s growth depends on
the success of his or her show, as finally, it’s all about TRP rating.
Winget, who started her TV career more than a decade back, says: “TRP rating makes a big difference. The ratings indicate how successful a show is and nothing is bigger than the show, no actor or character. If it gets TRPs, it works and that’s good for you as an actor. And if it doesn’t, it’s bad for you too,” says Jennifer, who has been seen in shows such as Dill Mill Gayye, Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa.
The actor, who feels that newcomers today have more enthusiasm than when she started out, is happy to see fresh faces in the industry. “There is so much exposure. Everything is so easy now than what it was for us 10 years back. It’s good that there are new people entering TV,” says Winget.
She adds that it’s crucial for newbies to couple the ambition with discipline. “I see that fire in them of wanting to do something big. This fire and enthusiasm is more than what we had 10 years back, but this needs to be accompanied by discipline. That’s very important,” says the actor.
