Can we take a moment to thank the internet for giving us gems like these from the 90’s? Yes! This one’s coming from one of those good old days when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had just won the Miss World title and was aiming to conquer films. But while most of us got to see her in Indian ads. This one’s a total gem – a gem coming all the way from South Africa. No literally! This South African saree commercial featuring Aishwarya along with Sonali Bendre has suddenly surfaced on the internet and boy, we dunno if we should say it’s cute or funny? I mean, Ash looks undeniably beautiful but the fact she is seen running behind the woods with a peacock feather in her hand is so damn funny. Add to that, even the voiceover will amuse you for it has an accent where the lady pronounces “Punjabi” as Pinjabi and “Shararas” and Sheruruz! Oh! We are going to have this on loop for at least a few minutes from now.We wonder how is Ash going to react to this one. More nostalgic than embarrassed or super embarrassed?All said and done, such things only prove how Ash has come a really long way in her career. In fact, way before Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone put India on the global entertainment scene, it was the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai who first won over the world. From winning the Miss World pageant to starring in a number of Hollywood productions and walking the Cannes red carpet year-after-year, Ash has been India’s global face for over a decade now. Agree?
