A Flying Jatt day 2 box office collection: Tiger Shroff’s film dips, earns Rs. 13. 10 crore!

After poor reviews, the effect of it was noticed on the first day collection of A Flying Jatt which was 7. 10 cr. Friday took a dip shockingly to take the total to 13. 10 cr.

The film fails to match expectations…

A Flying Jatt was supposed to be Tiger Shroff‘s hattrick at the box office after Heropanti and Baaghi did wonders. First because it had the actor, who has emerged as a young massy hero, hitting the big screens again this year and second, it had Remo D’Souza helming the film. The buzz looked hopeful because it gave a comic spin to the superhero genre. Much was expected from it. When Bollywoodlife spoke to the trade expert Amul Mohan, Editor Supercinema, they were hopeful the film will post great total at the box office in its opening weekend. However, there was one condition. The film had to be good to make such numbers. But after poor reviews, the effect of it was noticed on the first day collection itself which was 7. 10 cr. Friday took a dip shockingly to take the total to 13. 10 cr.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the numbers saying, “#AFlyingJatt remains low on Fri… Sat + Sun are crucial days… Thu [Janmashtami] 7.10 cr, Fri 6 cr. Total: ₹ 13.10 cr. India biz.” The film now has to bank heavily on Saturday and Sunday to turn things around. Our Trade expert, Amul Mohan (Editor, Supercinema) predicted much better numbers than this. He had said, “We are looking at 9 cr on Thursday since Janmashtami is not a big festival and 9 cr again on Friday. Saturday we are expecting some jump say 10 cr and another 11-12 crore on Sunday. So 40 crore is what I am looking at the end of the first weekend.” Clearly, none of it was met by the film. In fact, while speculating these numbers Mohan did throw caution to the wind saying, “The movie needs to be good too. If it isn’t up to the mark and gets bad reviews and bad word of mouth, that affects the movie a lot. These numbers are in a good scenario where everything is working.” Guess that’s what has happened to the film.
We already told you that it is Tiger Shroff’s most expensive film. It was Mohan himself who disclosed this important trivia about the film. He revealed, “I am hearing the budget of the film is 40+ cr. It’s an expensive film. Heropanti was in the range of around 25- 30 crore while Baaghi was slightly higher. This obviously has the action and VFX, the cost is higher here. It is the most expensive Tiger Shroff movie as of now.” The film still has the time to recover that kind of cost because these aren’t terrible numbers but yes it isn’t what we expected from this film.
A Flying Jatt could have bettered its chances at the box office had it stayed true to the plot. There is a lack of originality in the film, no chemistry between Tiger and Jacqueline, takes a preachy tone and many such drawbacks made it impossible for the film to fly like the Jatt in it.
