2016 didn’t turn out to be very lucky for actors in terms of income. Although Shah Rukh Khan had two releases in 2016 his income in 2015 was more when he just had one release. But it wasn’t the same for Salman Khan. His films didn’t do very well 2015 as much as they did in 2016. The report card of Bollywood’s leading actors is out and from what it looks like, there is a huge difference in their incomes from how much they earned in 2015. Forbes magazine did a research on the income of top stars of India. Comparing their net income from 2015, the magazine revealed which star grew and raked in more money at the box office in 2016.
According to the research, Shah Rukh incurred a loss of Rs. 36 crore as compared to the year before. While in year 2015 he made Rs. 257.5 crore, in 2016 he made Rs 221.8 crore. 
Forbes didn’t just count movies but also endorsements and TV revenue in the research to calculate each star’s net worth. For Salman, Sultan did wonders at the box office and it turned out to become the top grosser of 2016. Akshay Kumar’s Airlift and Rostom did a pretty decent job too. Deepika didn’t have any release here in Bollywood in 2016 as she was busy with her Hollywood debut. Priyanka, on the other hand had Jai Gangaajal which released in 2016 but the film tanked at the box office. The actresses did sign some meaty endorsements and DP signed two big films Padmavati and Raabta which helped her improving her income graph.
