Mahira Khan admits feeling shy watching Raees’ song Zaalima for the first time
Mahira Khan‘s chemistry with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in “Raees” song “Zaalima” is being appreciated and the Pakistani actress said she felt shy after watching the track. The romantic number from the Rahul Dholakia-directed movie has been sung by Arijit Singh and Harshdeep Kaur. During a Twitter chat, a fan asked Mahira what was her first reaction when she watched “Zaalima”, to which she replied, “I was feeling shy.”
The 32-year-old actress was all praise for her director of her debut Bollywood film. Calling her experience of working with Dholakia “amazing”, she wrote, “@rahuldholakia helped me every step of the way.”
Set against the backdrop of the prohibition in Gujarat, “Raees” touches upon the way alcohol industry crumbled and several illegal activities followed. Its trailer gives a glimpse of the story backed by heavy duty action sequences, and many thrilling moments. In the film, Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan essays the title role of Raees, a bootlegger. Also starring Nawazzuddin Siddiqui, it is slated to release on January 25.
Film distributor Akshaye Rathi has claimed that he has received threats from Shiva Sena’s Chhattisgarh unit against releasing “Raees”. In a series of tweets, Rathi said that he has received a letter which has warned him not to screen the Rahul Dholakia-directed movie, slated to release on January 25.The distributor also tagged Aaditya Thackeray, who is the head of Yuva Sena, a youth wing of Shiv Sena.”Dear @AUThackeray, We have received this threat letter from your Chhattisgarh unit against playing @iamsrk’s #Raees. Do you endorse it?” Rathi posted alongside pictures of the threat letter.
Addressing Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, he wrote, “@drramansingh ji & @CGAbhishekSingh, Please look into this to let law & order prevail in #Chhattisgarh. #Raees @ChhattisgarhCMO.” Rathi also made an appeal to all SRK fans to support him. “Request all @iamsrk fans to help me bring this to the notice of @AUThackeray. I’m sure he will take action against this nuisance. #Raees.”
