Did you know Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood debut is not Baywatch but this 2013 film?
Priyanka Chopra, since her successful stint with TV series Quantico, is going places as far as her Hollywood career is concerned. After winning People’s Choice awards, being a presenter at Oscars and Golden Globes, she is all set to make her big screen live action debut in Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s Baywatch, where she’ll be playing the character of lead antagonist Victoria Leeds. But did you know this won’t be the first time she’ll make her presence felt in a big Hollywood film? Yes, Priyanka Chopra was an important part of Disney’s spin-off of Pixar’s Cars, called Planes. I n the animated film, she did the voiceover for Ishani, a plane, a Pan-Asian champion from India, based on the AeroCad AeroCanard. Not just that, film being a musical even had Priyanka Chopra singing a song in her voice. Her character had grey shades in the film. The film was expected to do well a la Cars but upon release turned out to be critical disaster, however earned just enough money to spawn a sequel, called Planes: Fire & Rescue, whic h was released in 2014. Though Priyanka Chopra’s character was not the part of the second part.
Check out one of the scenes from the film, where Priyanka Chopra’s character Ishani teaches a lesson or two to the journalists who doubt that a girl is capable of winning a race:
Releasing on May 26, 2017, Baywatch tells the story of a lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) and a brash new recruit (Zac Efron) who uncover a criminal plot, masterminded by Priyanka Chopra’s Victoria Leeds, that threatens the future of the bay. If Dwayne The Rock Johnson is playing the lead protagonist, it’s Priyanka Chopra’s deadly turn as an antagonist that’ll balance the act in this reboot of the original, much loved TV series of the 80s.
