Rustom box office day 7 collection: Akshay Kumar’s film earns Rs 90.90 crore!

The film saw a considerable growth on the first Thursday…

Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta’s Rustom was one of the biggest and most anticipated films of the year and it proved its popularity as it opened very well at the box office. After the first weekend (4 day weekend) itself, it collected Rs 68.23 crore, making it the second highest opening weekend grosser of 2016. But post the weekend too, it has continued to perform well at the box office over the first week.
In fact, coz Thursday was a holiday (Raksha Bandhan), the film saw a good growth on day 7 and at the end of the first week, it has collected Rs 90.90 crore. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed to us on Twitter, “#Rustom Fri 14.11 cr, Sat 16.43 cr, Sun 19.88 cr, Mon 17.81 cr, Tue 7.67 cr, Wed 6.38 cr, Thu 8.62 cr. Total: Rs 90.90 cr. India biz.”
Akshay Kumar’s Rustom has not only got good reviews from critics but a lot of applause from the audience. In fact, it outperformed Hrithik Roshan‘s Mohenjo Daro which had a higher number of screens and shows. Akshay has actually crushed Hrithik’s film now. While Rustom has collected Rs 90.90 crore in 7 days, Mohenjo Daro has collected only Rs 51.18 crore.
The best part is that Akshay Kumar’s Rustom is now also the second highest first week grosser of 2016. While Rustom has managed to beat all other films, one film that it could not beat is Salman Khan‘s Sultan. But ain’t that obvious? Salman Khan’s Sultan had managed to collected a humongous amount of Rs 229.16 crore in the first week (9 day week) of its release! But Rustom managing to become the second highest first week grosser of 2016 is an achievement as well. What do you have to say about this? Tell us in the comments section below!
