OK Jaanu box office collection day 1: Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur FAIL to beat Aashiqui 2’s opening day figures
Is the audience bored with Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur’s chemistry? Is the couple failing to rekindle their ‘Aashiqui 2’ romance with OK Jaanu? Well, maybe we have jumped the gun too soon but that’s exactly what this opening day box office report suggests. OK Jaanu, which was initially anticipated to be a major crowd puller considering Shraddha and Aditya have returned together after 4 years, has barely managed to collect a total of Rs 4.08 crore on the first day. Yes...
We dunno what’s acting as drawback for OK Jaanu right now – Shraddha and Aditya’s pairing or the fact it’s an official remake of Tamil’s hit classic OK Kanmani which obviously will get more preference than this Hindi version. But it’s unfortunate how Shraddha and Aditya’s ‘Aashiqui’ reunion isn’t doing much wonders at the box office, unlike how their first film – Aashiqui 2 had created a rage at the box office. To be precise, Aashiqui 2, despite being Shraddha and Aditya’s first film together had collected Rs 5.75 crore on its first day, while OK Jaanu has barely made Rs 4 crore. Do you feel the film will create ripples at the box office in the coming days? I mean, Saturday and Sunday usually gets more footfalls at the theaters considering it’s a weekend off for most of us. But then again, nothing can be predicted as of now coz Deepika Padukone’s xXx: Return Of Xander Cage too is waving at the box office from today, only making things worse for OK Jaanu..
However, when I met Shraddha and Aditya ahead of OK Jaanu, they seemed pretty unfazed by what box office results has in store for them. They rather seem to be enjoying the whole experience of having worked together in an endearing film like OK Jaanu. Not to mention, even the critics aren’t terribly disappointed with the film, although a few who have watched the original OK Kanmani feel OK Jaanu director Shaadi Ali could have at least tried to add a few original creative elements into this remake.
Have you watched OK Jaanu? If yes, then tell us what do you think of Shraddha Aditya’s chemistry – is it better than Aashiqui 2 or is it done to death?
