Radhika Apte to join Sonam Kapoor and Akshay Kumar in Pad Man
Radhika Apte roped in for Pad Man. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor. It is directed by R Balki and produced by Twinkle Khanna.
Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man will have two ladies by his side. Sonam Kapoor took to Twitter and Instagram to share this good news that she along with Radhika Apte have been
roped in to be a part of Pad Man that will be directed by R Balki.
Sonam tweeted that she is thrilled to come onboard for the project and
tagged Radhika Apte also in her post. We had earlier reported to you how
R Balki was bringing Sonam and Akshay together for an upcoming project.
While the team of Pad Man kept everything under wraps, it is now
revealed that the film will have this trio, who are coming together for
the first time.
This is the second time Akshay and Sonam are coming together after Thank You. However, for Radhika, this will be the first time that she’ll work with the superstar. Seeing Radhika and Akshay together for the first time is again a fresh pair we’ll be witnessing. This is Twinkle Khanna’s first film that will be produced under her banner. To discuss the script of the film, Kapoor and Balki even met yesterday. We got pics of the duo as they’re chatting up. Akki even shared the first teaser poster of Pad Man. Soon it was revealed that the movie is based on the life of a man named Arunachalam Muruganantham, the first man to introduce affordable sanitary pads for women in his village.

It wasn’t easy to convince Muruganantham, however, after making Akshay and Twinkle wait for nearly one and a half year, he gave them the rights of Pad Man. As Muruganantham revealed to a leading tabloid, “This is not one of those movies that happened in a day or week. It has taken 1.5 years for us to give it a shape. A girl called Twinkle (Khanna) had been chasing me endlessly for rights. She tracked my every move. She desperately tried to reach me when I was in Malaysia and New York. She finally caught me in London. My friends were curious why would Twinkle want to meet me. It was only then I learnt she is Rajesh Khanna’s daughter. I remember telling her, ‘Akshay Kumar has also been trying to get me for the rights.’ She’d laughed and said, ‘Yes, he is my husband.’”
