The queen of soaps Ekta Kapoor always dares to experiment. And for her latest digital venture, Balaji ALT, she’ll now be breaking the traditional Devdas, which is from a man’s point of view to present it with a feminine twist. This would be the story of Devika, which will have a male Paro and Chandramukhi. The show will trace the journey of a young and rebellious Devika and her journey through life with love, passion, heartbreak, sex, self – destruction and redemption. Ekta is still looking for her Devika and is considering Ankita Lokhande for the role while she has finalized her Chandramukhi. Casting is still on for the guy to play Paro.
We all have seen Devdas by Sanjay Leela Bhansali that starred Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit. But in Ekta Kapoor’s Devdas, Chandramukhi will be a man. Everyone loved Madhuri as Chandramukhi but will Chandramukhi be as charming as a man? The TV series will be directed by Ken Ghosh and will star Sanjay Suri as the new age Chandramukhi. He is playing the role of Anurag the make version of iconic Chandramukhi. Sanjay Suri the famous actor from films like My Brother Nikhil, Pinjar and Bas Ek Pal is back to where he started from. Sanjay will make his digital debut with Ekta Kapoor’s digital serial Devdas. Though Sanjay will be playing Chandramukhi on the show, his character will be complex and charming.
The shoot of the show will start in Mumbai this week with Sanjay. Ekta is coming up with a slew of shows for her digital platform, Balaji ALT.
