Salman Khan gets acquitted of all charges in the Arms Act case
A Jodhpur court announced its judgment in the Arms Act case against Salman Khan acquiting the actor of all charges. January 5, 2017: The lawyers of Salman Khan conclude arguments in the Arms Act case. The prosecution started replying to the arguments of lawyers, which went on till the next day in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate. On December 9 last year, the final arguments had begun. July 25, 2016: On July 25, 2016, the Rajasthan High Court observed that the pellets recovered from Salman Khan’s hotel room did not match the pellets recovered from the vehicle which was allegedly used in the poaching of Chinkara.Salman Khan's Arms Act case: Timeline of events
March 10, 2016: A Jodhpur court summons Salman Khan for recording his statement. The actor, in his statement, pleads innocence and alleges that he had been wrongly framed by the forest officials. October 27, 2015: The Rajasthan High Court allows the petition of Salman seeking documents pertaining to the prosecution sanctioned against him. An earlier petition was rejected by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Jodhpur district where the trial of the case was in progress.July 28, 2015: There was a huge relief for Salman Khan in the case as the Rajasthan High Court admits five witnesses which had been refused to be brought in by the lower court. May 14, 2015: A Jodhpur court rejects the revision petition of Salman Khan and seeks permission to summon five witnesses in the Arms Act case.
April 29, 2015: Salman Khan appeared in a Jodhpur court to record his statement. In the statement, the actor pleads not guilty. On April 24, 2015: Salman Khan accused of misleading the court as he had sought exemption from appearing in the court on health grounds in the case.
March 3, 2015: With a Jodhpur court permitting new witnesses, documents and evidence, verdict in the case further deferred. February 25, 2015: Hearing was adjourned till March 3, 2015 as the prosecution wanted to bring in new witnesses, evidence and documents in the case. If it were not the case, the verdict would have been announced on this day itself.
