Shakti Kapoor on why he won’t manage his daughter Shraddha Kapoor’s career

Lately, there have been reports that Shakti Kapoor has taken over from daughter Shraddha Kapoor’s manager and publicist, and will be looking after her work from now on. The actress’s parents were shocked when asked to comment on the rumours.
Why fix what ain’t broke?
Shakti says, “We are not changing anybody in her team. I have no clue where this news is coming from. Her manager and the agency she is signed up with are doing a good job. In fact, I introduced Shraddha to her current manager. We are very happy with their work. She is one of their oldest clients and joined them before Aashiqui 2 and she is working with almost 12-13 brands now. More than Alia Bhatt. She is doing phenomenal work, why would we want to replace them? Shraddha is shooting for Haseena so she has no idea about this news doing the rounds. ”
‘Shraddha has a rich dad’
Shakti adds that he’s not interested in handling his daughter’s career. “Shraddha is an amazing kid and has the world at her feet.She has been handling her movies for a while now on her own, along with help from Shivangi, and the mother-daughter team is very good. I have my own life to lead, my work and films and I cannot manage her career. Though I am always there for my children, and they come to me for advice. Her career is very happening and she has been approached for some amazing films, but she takes her own time to sign them. There is no hurry, and she’s not a risk-taker. Unlike me, Shraddha has got a rich father (laughs), so she can take it easy.”

After Parineeti Chopra, Tabu has been announced as the new member joining Golmaal Again. Call this a weird co-incidence or call it fate but exactly a year after Tabu said that she’d love to be a part of Golmaal 4, she has been announced as one of the cast members of Golmaal’s fourth installment. Interesting, right? Exactly a year ago Tabu was asked about being stereotyped with a certain kind of cinema. She said, “If I am doing a certain kind of cinema that does not mean I hate the other kind. People will talk about only what is working and they get stuck with that. Personally, as an artiste I never do any discrimination. If I am offered a ‘Golmaal 4’, I’ll run and do it. How can people make these assumptions about me?” And this was literally exactly a year ago, from today. Now, only the Golmaal crew knows whether this is a strange co-incidence or that Tabu dropped a major spoiler bomb about Golmaal 4 a year in advance and we never picked on it.
Whatever the case may be, we gotta say that Tabu is a great addition to the cast of the hit comedy franchise. In a career spanning over two decades Tabu has done a few comic roles and made us laugh with her impeccable timing. One can never get over the hilarious beat-boxing scene in the, otherwise seriously dramatic, movie Virasat. Her role of a Punjabi wife in Biwi No. 1 was certainly the best thing about the whole film’s climax. On one hand she has done blatant comedy like the song “Main Ladki Po Po Po” and on the other a whole subtly comic movie Cheeni Kum with Amitabh Bachchan. We are totally excited to see Tabu pick up a comic role after a long time.
Tabu was last seen in Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor. The actress played the role based on Miss Havisham in Great Expectations.

Golmaal Again is directed by Rohit Shetty and stars Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade.

Guess who is gonna come on The Kapil Sharma Show next? Its none other than Akshay Kumar. The actor, who is gearing up for his next release Jolly LLB 2 is all set to appear on Kapil Sharma’s show to promote his movie. This isn’t the first time Akki is making an appearance on his show and history is proof that when Kapil and Akhay come together, there will be fireworks. I mean, they both have such good coming timing that you just can’t help but laugh even if the jokes are silly.
They have shot for the episode today and from what it looks like, the Sharma parivaar is going to ROFL. Akshay is seen cracking a case whereas Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma are seen taking their turns in the witness box. However, Khiladi Kumar isn’t alone. He is accompanied by his Jolly LLB co-star Huma Qureshi and she too seems to be having a good time. With Kapil and Akshay coming together, this is gonna be a hilarious episode I am sure! Talking about Jolly LLB, the film is directed by Subhash Kapoor who has very well managed to uplift the plot of the sequel and if the trailer is anything to go by, Jolly LLB 2 is going to be an impressive movie. Akshay plays a lawyer and the courtroom drama looks promising. It also features Huma Qureshi and Annu Kapoor. Actor Saurabh Shukla, who won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in Jolly LLB, has returned in the sequel. Jolly LLB made Arshad Warsi win two National Awards for his character in the movie. Will Akshay be able to justice to his character? Let’s wait and watch! Jolly LLB 2 will be releasing on February 10. 2017.

Karan Johar has penned yet another column, where the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director talks about his much talked about apology video. Karan describes his ordeal and reveals that he felt like a “hostage” who had to prove his “nationalism”. The filmmaker-turned-actor also addressed the social media trolls and the upset LGBT community too. However, it was Karan’s statement where he hinted at an unfortunate episode in a fellow filmmaker’s life that got us wondering if he was referring to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s slapgate incident on Padmavati sets in Jaipur. KJo seemed a little guilty and even questioned his own apology video.
Karan addressed his much talked about apology video, he said, “I’ve been criticized for going on the record and people have called my statement a hostage video. Yes, I’ve read all that. Yes, it made me cringe. Yes, I looked like I had a gun to my head, and yes, you couldn’t see it, but it felt like it was there.”
Karan then went on to write, “I hated having to sit there and declare my “nationalism” and what should constitute it. But it also got me thinking… I know what circumstances led me to do that, I understand, and it’s not like today, I can apologize for making it, because that might put me into another kind of limelight which I do not want. Would I do it again? Probably not. I hope not. You find yourself feeling coerced and compromised in your morality, your ethics, your principles. Brought to my knees with a hostage video.”

It was Karan’s conclusion that struck us the most, he wrote, “And when a fellow filmmaker gets humiliated, you wonder if you have set a precedent that he is paying the price for? You hope you’re wrong.”
And it’s not just Karan, his friend Shah Rukh Khan too has sworn never to tread that path, where everything and anything that is muttered ends up becoming fodder for political goons. In an interview recently Shah Rukh revealed how he dreads waking up and checking his mobile to find out that he has been dragged into a controversy for no fault of his. Nia Sharma gets slut-shamed for showing off her moves in an Instagram video and she has the perfect reply to shut haters up!

A few days back, Nia Sharma posted a few hot videos from a recent photo shoot on her Instagram and while she looked every bit sexy in it, it didn’t go down well with her fans. Unintentionally, the actress started a debate or war on feminism and sexism through these posts. We’re talking about her fans here. While a lot of people commented on the posts calling her cheap, shameless and slut, there are some who are giving it back to these haters rather sensibly. Some fans are disappointed with the actress and are even asking her to stay in her limits and not post such videos.
This is not the first time an actress has been slut-shammed on social media. A lot of onscreens bahus who shed their sanskari image off screen have been on the receiving end of social media haters. Last year, Rajinikanth had specially called for a cake for Amy and this year, Amy plans to take her team out for dinner after they wrap up the shoot for the day.” Amy is only too thrilled to be working on her birthday. According to her, it’s become a ritual of sorts.
Nothing about Amy Jackson’s character in 2.0 has been revealed yet. The movie is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 400 crore, easily making it one of the most expensive indian films. Rajinikanth will return as Dr Vaseegaran, Chitti and Akshay Kumar will play the lead antagonist in this film. AR Rahman will be composing the music for this sci-fi film while Anthony is the editor of this prestigious project. 2.0 teaser will be out on April 14, we are hoping to catch a glimpse of Amy Jackson’s character finally.

This morning, many were surprised with the inclusion of Tabu in Golmaal 4 cast, that currently has Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade. The Golmaal franchise is one of most loved comedy franchises in Bollywood, with all the three movies making huge money at the box office. Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, and Arshad Warsi had been the mainstays of the franchise, making permanent fixtures in each of the movies along with director Rohit Shetty. The heroines have of course been shuffled – Rimii Sen was the object of affection in the first. The second Golmaal movie had four heroines in Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley and Anjana Sukhani. Kareena Kapoor Khan returned for the third movie to be the sole heroine as well as the part of the boys’ gang. However in the fourth, she has two replacements in Parineeti Chopra and now Tabu.
Now many may wonder why Tabu, the National award winning actress (twice) as well as part of couple of international projects like The Namesake and Life of Pi is known for her dead serious roles in movies like Maachis, Astitva, Chandni Bar, Hu Tu Tu. But people tend to forget that she is considered the best in her field, because she has attempted various genres including comedy and horror. While we talk about Maachis and Chandni Bar, we tend to forget she has also done a Sajan Chale Sasural and Hera Pheri.

Saajan Chale Sasural

There is a reason why David Dhawan considers Tabu as one of his favourite heroines – he believes she has amazing comic timing. Sparks of the same were seen in this Govinda’s infidelity comedy, that also starred Karisma Kapur. Though Govinda and Karisma were nearly regular fixtures in David Dhawan movies once upon a time, Tabu managed to hold her own against these two comedy heavyweights.
Chachi 420

Tabu reprised Meena’s role from the original Tamil flick Avvai Shanmugi where Kamal Haasan played the Indian Mrs Doubtfire. Though it was Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, Amrish Puri, Nasser and of course Mr Haasan who took away most of the laughs, Tabu give a glimpse of her comic talent in the climactic portions of the movie.
Biwi No.1

Tabu might have a small, supporting role in this ensemble comedy, featuring the likes of Salman Khan, Karisma Kapur, Anil Kapoor, Sushmita Sen and Saif Ali Khan. But in whatever little she has to do in her role as Anil Kapoor’s Sardarni wife, she get to elicit a few chuckles out of us, again in the final portions of the movie.
Hera Pheri

She might be the serious element in Priyadarshan’s cult classic comedy that gave us Baburao Ganpatrao Apte. But Tabu did get to show off her comic brilliance in the initial portions of Hera Pheri, when her and Suneil Shetty’s characters engage in a game of one-upmanship to get their coveted job, before romance takes over.
Cheeni Kum

Cheeni Kum may not be an outright comedy per se, but the unusual romcom has a few moments of sweet comic brilliance especially between Tabu and Amitabh Bachchan.
