beauty. Back in February 2017, Katrina had attended the Vogue x Mario
Testino bash, and chilled with the world famous photographer. Prior to
that, the two artists had collaborated for the project. We had been
waiting since two months to catch a glimpse of her picture. And now,
that it is out, we have to say that it has certainly been worth the
wait.
Testino is one of world’s ace fashion photographers who is affiliated with GQ, Vogue, Vanity Fair and more. He has a very famous photo series where he clicks popular personalities swathed just in towels. Katrina has posed for this very series and is looking absolutely stunning. As the name of the series suggests, she has just a towel draped around her body, and another towel that covers her hair. The picture might be semi-nude, but it is so aesthetic and classy that it seems to be a lesson in art. No water droplets strategically placed to titillate, no locks of wet hair falling on the face to make it seductive; just an artist’s version of his muse.
Earlier, Testino has clicked Blake Lively, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Bloom, David Gandy for the towel series amongst many others. Well, all those featured previously in the series have a tough competition from Katrina now!
As reported by Vogue, the towel series is very close to Mario’s heart. “I think girls and guys feel this freedom at being able to express themselves. There is no predetermined way of how you put the towel on. You can do anything you want – wear it however you want. I have always treasured this kind of freedom; it’s rare,” said Testino, while talking to Vogue. So, the idea of liberation is what makes the pictures such a visual delight.
Further elaborating on how this series came into existence, the ace photographer said, When I first began using Instagram, I was at a shoot with Kate Moss and I saw her in her dressing room after a shower – she was in a robe and a towel on her head and I just decided to capture that moment and post it.”
The release of the Katrina’s photo coincided with her debut on Instagram. We wonder if this was an intended welcome gift by Mario to the actress.
Also, let us not forget that Mario has also shot with Sushant Singh Rajput and Kendall Jenner in February. So, we have pictures from that photoshoot to look forward too as well.
