5 reasons why every girl wants to be Devasena from Baahubali 2, thanks to Anushka Shetty
Anushka Shetty bowled us over with her powerful performance as Devasena in Bahubali 2.
After two years, Baahubali: The Conclusion hit 8000 screens across the nation. The movie witnessed an unprecedented buzz, beating even the Rajinikanth mania. Ever
since its release, reviews have been pouring in on social media, online
praising the Baahubali team for its commendable effort. While fans are
relieved as they finally know why Kattappa killed Baahubali, they can’t
stop gushing about the VFX, the characters and the action sequences.
Prabhas as Amarendra Bahubali was phenomenal, he looked every bit the
royal, humble king! We couldn’t have had anybody else playing the role.
But there’s the other character that has caught people’s eye. In fact,
if its possible, she has found herself a huge fan base overnight. We are
talking about Devasena played by Anushka Shetty.
She was the perfect definition of bold and beautiful. She is what you
would call the opposite of a damsel in distress. SS Rajamouli has send
out a powerful message with Devasena’s character – even back in those
times, women could be powerful yet feminine. Sivakami has already set
that example in Part 1 but today we want to gush about Devasena. Here’s
why every woman wants to be Devasena.
Unapologetic about being herself – She says what she wants to and says it well. It may sting, but she cares two hoots. She believes in speaking the truth and that’s what is most important to her.
Brave and Gutsy – (SPOILER) When her Kuntala Kingdom was attacked, she woke up with a start, but she didn’t cry out for help. Instead she prepared herself and carried her quiver of arrows and bow. Even when her chariot was attacked, she drew out her sword to kill all of them herself. She doesn’t need anybody’s help!
Confidence – (SPOILER) When the Mahishmati Kingdom sent her a world of wealth, she wasn’t too impressed. Instead sent them a fitting reply. Even when she was accused cutting of a the warrior’s fingers, she didn’t bat an eyelid when she was asked why she did so. That scene where she walks with Amarendra to get to the boat. Couldn’t help but applaud her swag! There is an air of surety around her that you want to imbibe yourself.
Feminine yet strong – She sets the perfect example of a feminine woman with a mind of her own. Just because she’s feminine, doesn’t mean she’s delicate! Beneath all that stunning beauty, lies a woman you dare not mess with.
She gets to be marry Amarendra – Of course we want to be Devasena if we can get to marry Amarendra Bahubali – the epitome of royalty, strength and humility!
In other news, After Part 1’s roaring success, Part 2 became a brand of sorts. Everyone wanted a piece of Baahubali. The distribution prices, satellite prices almost doubled, as the demand for Baahubali soared. The film has now expanded into comic books, virtual reality games, graphic novels, merchandise. The magnum opus is almost omnipresent! The movie has already raked in Rs 400-500 crore. As per box office collections, the film has just crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on Day 1 itself. The film is all set to shatter previous film’s records by a huge margin.
The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, Naser, Tamannaah Bhatia. The movie is directed by SS Rajamouli and produced by Shobu.
