Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan to reunite on screen after 9 years?
Abhishek is being considered to essay the role of Sahir Ludhianvi, famous poet, in the film titled Gustakhiyan.
We all have been eagerly waiting for Priyanka Chopra
to announce her next Bollywood venture. We were earlier promised by the
actress that fans will get concrete info about her next in January 2017,
but that did not happen. But we can give her a free pass on that, as an
international star like herself has to juggle with a lot and plans
change rapidly. There have been rumours that she will essay the role of
writer and poet Amrita Pritam in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next. The
latest one that the rumour mill is churning out is – Abhishek Bachchan
will play the male lead opposite the actress.
According to a report carried by DNA, Abhishek is being considered to essay the role of Sahir Ludhianvi, famous poet, in the film titled Gustakhiyan. Back in the days, Sahir and Amrita were romantically linked and it will be great to see the two actors portray them on screen. We have seen their chemistry earlier in fun filled movies like Bluffmaster and Dostana, and loved it. We can easily hope that they do justice to the characters with their intensity. There is the added charm of them reuniting on screen after almost a decade.
But let us not jump the gun. As Abhishek’s name is not the first one that has been doing the rounds, neither this is the only that that Priyanka is rumoured to be doing. Earlier, it was reported that Shah Rukh Khan had been approached for the role. After that, there were names like Irrfan Khan and Fawad Khan that were the potential candidates for the role. Only time will tell who lands the iconic role in this venture. And also we are hearing that Priyanka has picked Pink director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s next which is a thriller. Now, only the actress can confirm the said news.
Earlier, Priyanka had denied doing the particular SLB venture in an interview. She had said, “No truth to any such reports. Yes I am meeting Sanjay sir and we always discuss work and he is someone I would work with all my life till the time he wants to work with me. I am his eternal fan. Every time we discuss a film but we have to still figure out which one will it be. I haven’t given my commitment to any Bollywood film yet. I am not someone who says no to Sanjay sir.”
