While Prabhas and Rana Daggubati‘s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has broken quite a few records in India already, looks like it has achieved something huge in the overseas market too! Yes,
it has now become the first Indian movie to top the Thursday night
previews in America. According to Box Office Mojo (a leading trade
portal), Baahubali raked in $2.5 million (Rs 16.02 crore),
after being released in 330 locations and 425 screens. The paid previews
on Thursday (April 27) got a huge response, helping it edge out Fast & Furious 8 ($1.9 million), Beauty & the Beast ($661K), Boss Baby ($526K) and top the box office charts in America.
According to Box Office Mojo, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion will now grow over Saturday and Sunday, raking in about $9.5 million (Rs 61.06 crore) over the weekend. The portal also revealed how Baahubali 2: The Conclusion‘s magical run at the American box office will affect other films like Fast & Furious 8. In other parts of the world too, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus is performing well. This fantastic run has to be attributed to the fact that the first film was a marvel and it helped create a huge buzz for the second part. Everyone across the world wanted to know why Kattapa killed Baahubali and you finally have the answer in front of you. Everyone booked their tickets to watch the movie and from what we hear, several theatres across the globe are housefull till Monday.
