Shah Rukh Khan’s Zaalim beats Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil Hoon, Varun Dhawan’s Humsafar to become best song of 2017 first quarter

Shah Rukh Khan is the king of romance. All love bugs swear by the songs he has featured in. Be it Mitwa from Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Suraj Hua Madham from K3G, or any song from DDLJ – all numbers are still close to our hearts. So it came as almost no surprise when his Zaalima topped our list of best songs of the first quarter of 2017.
We picked five of the best melodies from the first quarter of 2017 and asked fans to vote for their favourite one. Apart from Zaalima from Raees, other choices were Kaabil Hoon, Yeh Ishq Hai, Humsafar, Enna Sona. Well, let us not beat around the bush and get to the point. SRK-starrer Zaalima garnered 5o per cent votes from amongst all five songs. Woah…fans sure love their superstar. Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil Hoon only managed to garner 30 per cent votes and landed on the third spot. A song that released much after that – Varun Dhawan’s Humsafar – came in second. Then there is Ok Jaanu song, Enna Sona, and finally on the last spot, with the least amount of votes, is Shahid Kapoor’s Rangoon song, Yeh Ishq Hai. Well, in our opinion, Yeh Ishq Hai deserved better than that. But fans have spoken, and there is no greater judge.
Talking about Zaalima, it gave us the first glimpse at SRK and Mahira Khan’s on-screen chemistry. We were instantly bowled over and wanted to see more of them in Raees. The crux of the film was not a love story, so we did not get much of romance. But whatever that was there on screen sure was memorable. We can’t take away the credit from the off screen heroes of the song. Arijit Singh and Harshdeep Kaur’s voices perfectly complements the crackling chemistry that Shah Rukh and Mahira’s share onscreen. JAM8 did a fab job with the composition.
