Parineeti Chopra backs Sushant Singh Rajput’s stance, says celebs can’t be forced to comment on any issue
Ayushmann, on the other hand, was more vocal than his co-star
The third song of Meri Pyaari Bindu was launched
today at an event today. We saw the lead pair, Parineeti Chopra and
Ayushmann Khurrana, groove to the number, and also hum a few lines of
other songs. All in all, it was a fun event, with, thankfully, no
disruptions. Just yesterday, at the launch of the upcoming film Raabta,
Sushant Singh Rajput got in a verbal tiff with a journalist, when he
refused to comment on an ongoing controversy of ‘national interest’. The
video of the tiff went viral and invited some flak for the actor. He
was merely raising a point that to comment on the sensitive topic, the
actors, or anyone for that matter, should be well informed. And one
person cannot be informed by each and every happening across the nation.
Today, Parineeti was quizzed if actors should be informed about
controversies, and should they give their opinion. Well, her thoughts
resonated with Sushant.
Parineeti said,”You cannot force me to comment on any issue if I don’t know about it or doesn’t’ concern me. If I am a sports enthusiast, I might give my opinion. But some might comment, some might not. To each his own.” Well, we do agree to an extent with Parineeti. But also as public figure, there have been times when celebs chose silence over voicing their opinion that could educate their fans. But as the actress said, to each his own. We really can’t force someone to comment on a certain controversial topic. And also the validation of a celeb’s choice to answer or not depends on the nature of the question. When celebs were being asked about their reaction to the blanket ban on Pakistani artistes, it was because the industry was directly involved with the matter.
When Parineeti was asked about Kulbhushan’s sentence she said, “I really feel, I am the least important to comment on this topic. Our government is on it, so I am sure they will sort it out.” Again a point well made. And as we said before there is nothing that is going to change about the case if a celeb comments on it or not. And the Kulbhushan case is where a politician’s or any government official’s would matter more than anyone else’s.
Ayushmann, on the other hand, was more vocal than his co-star. “See there are two perspectives, they feel he is a spy, we claim that he is an ex-personnel picked from Iran. I guess they will sort it out. So, we don’t know ISI or RAW – who is right! But we can support our country and our army.”
