Alia Bhatt doesn’t believe Snapchat CEO’s poor India comment while Kriti Sanon is CLUELESS

Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel has fallen on every Indian’s radar for making a bad remark about the country. Well, that’s what a former employee of the man told Variety. Here’s what exactly happened. According to a report by Variety, an ex employee of Snapchat, Evan Spiegel, stated that the CEO, during a meeting to discuss the growth of the app’s user base in 2015, allegedly called India a ‘poor’ country. Due to a certain dip in the Indian market, the concerned employee had raised the issue to Evan. However, he cut him in the middle of his talk and said, “This app is only for rich people,” Spiegel said, Variety quoted the employee’s revelation. “I don’t want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain.” You see, obviously this didn’t go down well with Indians using the app.
Although, the company did issue an official statement denying this incident, the damage was done. Obviously, the app has a lot of Bollywood celebrities as well. So at the IIFA voting event when the actors interacted with the media, this very question was asked to most of them. Present were Chunky Pandey, Vicky Kaushal, Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt. They all gave polarised opinions about the comment. Scroll below and check out how each one of them reacted to the news.
Sushant Singh Rajput: He clearly stated, “I don’t use Snapchat.” On prodding him further over the subject, he said, “Of course it is uninformed.”
Kriti Sanon: She was quite clueless about the Snapchat controversy.  Clueless about the comment and chose to not comment.
Vicky Kaushal: He had a very sensible retort to the issue, “I only understand one thing… If you like the app use it, else uninstall it. I guess we are all learning and he, too, will.”
Chunky Pandey: “I don’t know what Snapchat is!” Well, didn’t we tell you celebs gave a polarised views?
Alia Bhatt: The one person who kept track of news spot on was Alia. “I don’t think he has said anything like that.”
We spoke EXCLUSIVELY to Neha Dhupia who told us that she refrains from using the app, unless the CEO apologizes for his derogatory comment. She said, “I know about this comment and I only realised it after I posted my last Snap story. So I think I’m going to refrain from using the app for a while, till he apologizes.” Looks like she’s boycotting the app just like many other Indians.
