PM Narendra Modi’s decision of demonetization of Rs
500 and Rs 1000 notes might help curb black money problem, but has its
own set of cons. Bollywood also has
witnessed the downside of the situation. We will reserve a detailed
article on that for later but for now, release of upcoming thriller
Wajah Tum ho has been postponed due to demonetization. Makers feel that
a huge set of the potential audience of Wajah Tum Ho is from smaller
towns where the new currency is not available as per plans. Trade
experts advises the makers to shift the release date of the Gurmeet Choudhary
and Sana Khan starrer further to December 16, to avoid the short term
effect of demonetization. Thankfully, for the makers there is no other
film releasing that day, and hence Wajah Tum Ho won’t be facing any
clash. In addition, it gives 15 days more time to people to adjust to
the current situation the country is transiting through.
Wajah Tum Ho has been directed by Vishal Pandya who shot to fame with Hate Story 2, and Hate Story 3. He has denied reports that Wajah Tum Ho is an erotic thriller. “People come to me and say that, ‘it’s a bold film and a bold concept’ but I would like to clear that there is just one minute of bold scene in the film and that’s it. Rest of the film is purely based on a strong story line with a thriller element,” he said in an interview. Interestingly Vishal has also announced the release date of Hate Story 4. Yep! The fourth installment will release on Oct 13, 2017.
Earlier, Rock On 2 producer Ritesh Sidhwani had said it is
disappointing that the film’s box office collection got affected due to
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonetize Rs 1,000 and Rs
500 notes. He said after the announcement priorities of the people have
changed. We can only hope that makers are able to save Wajah Tum Ho from
the on going situation.
