Tell us something about your character?
Rudra is a common man but born with super natural powers. He helps everyone but never shows it. He takes a responsibility of helping those people who are in need. The divine and creator has selected Rudra to help others and I have inked a tattoo on my back which is the answer of the secrets of Mahakumbh.
What made you to take up the project?
Arvind Babbal was working on this project since two and a half years. That's when he approached me with Mahakumbh but at that time I couldn't do it as I was busy doing Saraswatichandra. After Saraswatichandra ended we again discussed about the show and I agreed to do the show as the character was very challenging.
How challenging has this role been to you?
As an actor this project is challenging for me because what I am doing now has a 360 degree change if you compare with my earlier project. Arvind Ji and I used to make a note to improvise my character in terms of body language, looks etc. Then I also worked on my physique, I have spent time in my favorite holiday destination Trivandam to tan myself. I am a fun loving person who cannot remain quiet for a long time but the character demands seriousness, so efforts were taken to get into the skin of the character.
Was shooting in Benaras a tough time for you?
Shooting in Benaras was very hectic. We shot there for a month and it was too hot there. I was really counting days to come back to Mumbai due to the hectic schedule.
How was you experience working with Seema Biswas?
She is a wonderful actress and someone who is never satisfied with her work. She always feels that she could have given a better shot which is a quality of being dedicated and hard working actor. She is not only a good actor but also a very good human being.
Your are tagged as a dedicated and hard working actor by your co-actors so how do you feel about it?
I don't let those compliments get over me because if I do so I won't be able to work. Honestly speaking, I consider myself a normal actor who works hard. I feel I am very blessed to show my versatility through this show. I consider myself lucky to do three different things Nach Baliye, Saraswatichandra, Mahakumbh back to back.
Do you think the show will bring more success in your life?
For me the show comes first and then me. I hope that the show becomes successful and then the actors. If such a thing works I will be the happiest person and I feel not only me but the entire team of Mahakumbh will be delighted.
