Ranveer Singh’s Alauddin Khilji similar to Game Of Thrones’ Khal Drogo? Padmavati’s stylist speaks up
Ranveer Singh's Padmavati look inspired by Khal Drogo? Find out!
One of the most awaited looks from Padmavati, Ranveer Singh‘s Khilji avatar has taken the internet by a storm. After revealing the royal look of Deepika Padukone
as Rani Padmini and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh, it was
finally time for Ranveer’s look and boy was it worth the wait! Just last
night, after the poster was leaked online, Ranveer officially shared
his look from Padmavati as
Sultan Alauddin Khilji on Twitter. Everything about the look – right
from the long hair, to the greenish eyes and the scar under his left eye
– has swept us off our feet. There absolutely nothing we don’t like
about the poster. This never-seen-before avatar of the actor is making
it difficult for us to take our eyes off him. The more we look at it,
the more we draw similarities between him and the iconic look of Khal
Drogo from Game of Thrones.
We spoke to the person behind Ranveer’s deadly look, Preetisheel Singh. When we asked her about the resemblance between Sultan Alauddin Khilji and Khal Drogo’s character she said, “It is definitely different from Khal Drogo because my intention was not that. Because if you see Khal Drogo’s look, he has got a long braid going on…there are balloons going on. I feel that Ranveer’s face, every time I work with him, ends up looking like someone. You know when we were working on the MakeMyTrip ad, when I completed the course of the ad and made a photoshop of that and completed the full look, he looked like a character from Narcos. He is kind of a chameleon, he transforms his face. But no reference has been taken from Khal Drogo.”
Well, if anything we think Ranveer looks hotter than Khal Drogo in his Padmavati look. Don’t you agree? When asked further about his look for the film, the stylist said, “I didn’t want to show a period movie…like a typical Indian period movie. I wanted to show it in a very different light. I wanted to give long hair to Ranveer and I wanted to give a very princely look to Shahid. There is something very royal about him and when you look at Ranveer there is something very beefy…a different aura altogether. So keeping that in mind, I wanted to give very different hair and a very different look and when you see the movie, there will be many more surprises for you.”
This just makes our wait for the film even harder. What about you? Drop your comments below and tell us if you liked Ranveer’s much-awaited Padmavati look.
