Biography and Family:
One of the hottest hunks of the Indian Television industry, Gautam Rode, popularly known asSaraswatichandra, was born on 14th August in the year 1977. He was born and brought up in New Delhi. He completed his schooling from Army Public School, New Delhi. Gautam pursued his graduation in B.com from the well reputed Bhagat Singh College, Delhi. By the time he passed college,his father retired and thereby he wanted to join his dad’s business in stock broking in the share market. But destiny had something else in store for him! He joined modeling but a time came when he could not even pay his room rent and this forced him to join acting.
Gautam has got an elder sister and is very close to her. He shares everything with his sis. Even though his sister is married and stays out of town, he calls her up and discusses almost every matter. His mother is a home maker. The most special women in his life are his mother and his sister. On woman’s day, he plans to take out his mom on a long drive, dine out and also buy her a beautiful sari.
He used to stay in New Delhi along with his family but has now shifted to Mumbai with his mom and dad. His elder sister stays in Delhi with her husband. He is known by his nickname Gattu by loved ones.

His Girlfriend?
Recently, Gautam was spotted coming out of a shop hand in hand with a pretty girl sporting a sexy skirt teamed up with a layered shirt, carrying a large green bag and wearing trendy wedges along with black glares. When confronted, ‘yes there is a special person in my life and she does not belong to the television industry’, claimed the good looking guy. He met her at a suburban restaurant, named Urbran Tadka, through a group of common friends and took an instant fondness towards her.
Gautam was completely mesmerized by her and they hit it off instantly and have been into a courtship for a long time since then. He is pretty serious about this girl and they are into a steady relationship for quite a while now. They have been seeing each other for almost four years now and are planning to settle down soon. But when asked about his girl’s name, he quipped that he is not yet comfortable in revealing her name.
Some sources reveal that his girlfriend belongs to a Muslim family and thereby there are issues going around in between the two families. The bone of contention in getting married is that she hails from a Muslim background. But Gautam has been trying hard to commence journey with his girlfriend.
Gautam has also bought a new pad and is keen on starting a new journey with the love of his life post marriage in his dream house. He has been working on his dream house since one and a half months and is planning to tie the knot this year itself.The only hiccup seems to be the religion factor!

The handsome hunk bagged the lead in Devdaas director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut serialSaraswatichandra. It is a completely male oriented TV series based on a Gujarati novel by Govardhanram Tripathi and here he portrays the central character Saraswatichandra (or Saras), raised by his step mother and yet he grows up to be a compassionate person with lofty ideas.
He knows to respect his elders and is very helpful at the same time. In any circumstance, he cannot go against truth. He is least bothered about what people think about him and also takes the blame of others on his shoulders. Saras visits temples quite often and is very pious. He never speaks out his heart and keeps everything within himself.
Dill Mill Gayye fame Jennifer Winget plays his love interest. He is least interested getting married and gets annoyed on learning that his life partner has already been chosen for him, a rich, beautiful and well educated village girl named Kumud Sundari Desai (Jennifer Winget). The Indian soap opera revolves around the two, Saras and Kumud who gradually fall in love,can’t stay apart and are incomplete without each other.
The daily soap has gained popularity within a very short span of time. It went on air on 25th February 2013 on the channel Star Plus as well as DD National. Saraswatichandra is loved by the audience due to the dazzling onscreen chemistry between the protagonists of the show, Gautam and Jennifer. The show has already received many Awards and nominations.

Life has been a roller – coaster ride for him, giggles the 36 year old guy. He has been constantly getting offers from various shows including non – fiction shows. Gautam hosted season 5 of the no. 1 dance reality show Nach Baliye, aired on Star plus. Nach Baliye is a dance platform in which celebrity couples participate and the best of the lot wins the show.
The name of the show has been inspired from the famous song Nach Baliye from the movie Bunty Aur Babli. Gautam along with co – anchor Karan Wahi (who was last seen in Dill Mill Gayye as a medical intern named Dr. Sidhhant Modi) hosted Nach Baliye 5 and addressed each other as Bade and Chote.
He picked the lead role in the kid’s adventure TV program Lucky in which he played the role of Lucky, a young prisoner who runs a forged antique shop in Chor Bazaar.
Gautam also appeared on the popular cooking show Mallika – E – Kitchen season 1, also aired on the channel Star Plus. He was also seen in one of the episodes of the well known horror show Aahat, Maut Ka Khel.
He did a small role in the daily soap Baa Bahu aur Baby as well. He played the protagonist Baby’s love interest named Anish. The show ran from 2005 – 07.

The 6 feet actor also tried his luck in the film industry. He got an opportunity to enact the role of Sharmaan Kapoor in famous horror film director Ram Gopal Verma’s horror flick Agyaat, also starring south Indian super star Nitin Kumar Reddy, in the year 2009.
Gautam worked in the movie U, Bomsi and Me as well, wherein he played the role of Sam Mac Patel in 2005. He also picked a role in the popular hindi film Annarth, his debut film in the year 2002.
He signed another film tentatively titled Wow which is currently under filming and is slated to release by the end of this year.
