Deepika Padukone on Wage Gap in Bollywood, Roles in Hollywood Films
Deepika Padukone will soon be seen on the silver screen in Tamasha
"I am not unhappy with what I am being paid. For me its important that I do good work. Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir have been around for so long. They are in a different league. But I think there should be some semblance when it comes to the current generation of stars," said Deepika.
Bollywood
actor Ranveer Singh thinks that his 'good friend,' actress Deepika
Padukone is ready for a role in a Hollywood film. At the MAMI Mela in
Mumbai on Saturday, Ranveer said Deepika should do 'all the summer
blockbusters' that had been offered to her. (Also Read: Deepika Wraps Up Bajirao Mastani)
"I think with your talent you are now ready for the west. You should do all the summer blockbusters that have been offered to you. Work with someone like Woody Allen," he said.
Deepika, who was apparently offered the hugely popular Fast And The Furious, had something else in mind.
"I was offered my first film way before I actually did my first film in Bollywood. But I waited for the right film and the right time so I wouldn't deny that there hasn't been interest but I think I will do it when I am ready," said Deepika.
The actress also spoke out about the gender pay disparity in Bollywood.

"I was talking to a male co-star and he said that instead of increasing the payment for female stars the men should decrease their remuneration but it was just a conversation," she quipped.

Navi Bhangu speaks about his 'Arjun' connection
Navi Bhangu speaks about his 'Arjun' connection...
The soft spoken and humble Navi Bhangu is slowly and steadily climbing the ladder to gain prominence in the television circuit. With unique series like Amrit Manthan, Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai in his kitty, Navi is currently busy with his latest venture Suryaputra Karn (Contiloe) on Sony TV.Donning the character of the Indian mythological hero Arjun, Navi shared with us his experience playing the character. “Firstly, Arjun is an iconic character, who is regarded with high esteem. Moreover, my character name inYeh Dil was also Arjun, which was loved by fans. I believe that I have some connection with the name Arjun and hence, agreed to do it.”
Being your first mytho show, how difficult is it to enact the character? Navi quipped, “The grand scale outdoor shoot definitely takes a toll on the health. Many might not realize that the mighty war sequences shown in the mytho series need more physical effort than the family dramas. After a certain period of time, the extensive shooting schedule leaves one completely exhausted.”
Finally we quizzed him about the preparations he made for the role and the artist replied, “Though I have referred to earlier versions of Mahabharata on the small screen, I feel there are certain limitations to such characters. Since every epic narrates the tale of a particular period, it is indeed difficult to put much of the creative inputs into it. Hence, we have to abide to certain acts.”
We wish the young man all the luck!!!
