The film censor board has reportedly refused to clear MSG: The Messenger of God featuring self-styled guru Ram Rahim Singh.
According to reports, A number of board's examining committee members have taken exception to Ram Rahim Singh, depicting himself as god in the film.
the board member apparently have objections to Ram Rahim being shown to be performing miracles and curing terminal diseases.
Mumbai tabloid Mid-Day quoted a committee member as saying, "The godman has showed himself as god and the film looks more of an advertisement. Besides, some scenes show miracles taking place which are not substantiated by logic."
The film which is slated for Jan 16 release, has now been referred to the board's revising committee which will watch the film and give its opinion.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the film Aditya Insaan has clarified that the film doesn't depict Ram Rahim Singh as God in any way.
"In the promo, he clearly mentions that he is a normal human being. He is the hero of the film and does what other heroes do - fight evils of the society. We are now awaiting the revising panel's decision," he said.
MSG: The Messenger of God, hit the headlines soon after its trailer was unveiled online for the obvious reason that it had any self styled guru not only starring in commercial film, but also singing, dancing and beating up goons like a Bollywood star. The trailer has got over 2 million views till now.
Ram Rahim Singh claims he made the movie to send his message to the youth and end ills prevailing in the society. The film was completed in 67 days and about 13 lakh people have acted in the movie.
