Ranbir Kapoor will have to fight it out with Akshay Kumar at the box office on Independence Day 2019

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan are all set to unite on screen for an action-packed trilogy. The first part – Brahmastra was announced by Karan Johar yesterday (October 11) and we have to say we are quite stoked about it. Not only does it have three wonderful actors, but the superhero sci-fi theme has excited us too. But while everyone noticed that the release date was announced (August 15, 2019), no one took notice of the looming clash. Yes, Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra is all set to have a MEGA box office clash with Akshay Kumar’s film! Don’t believe us, then read on.
Every year, Akshay Kumar has three-four releases on set dates. We surely have an Akshay Kumar film releasing on every Republic Day or Independence Day. Be it Airlift and Rustom last year or Jolly LLB 2 and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha this year, he has never let go off of these festive dates. So you will surely see one or the other Akshay Kumar film releasing on August 15, 2019 too! Taking a look at the films in his kitty, the superstar has 2.0 (Republic Day 2018), Padman (April 13, 2018) Gold (Independence Day 2018), Kesari (Holi 2019) lined up. With Mogul and Crack already been announced, we guess that either of these two films will hit the screens on August 15, 2019. At least that’s what Akshay had planned. With that Akki will have to battle it out with Ranbir, Alia and Amitabh. But who will emerge as the winner? Or will Akshay change his plans and avert such a clash after signing on a Dharma film scheduled to release in the same year (Kesari)? That’s something we will have to wait and watch! 
Brahmastra is being directed by Ayan Mukerji, who has given Ranbir several hits (Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani). Produced by Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios, the film will hit the floors next year and wrap up by early 2019. A lot of VFX work will be done on the film and from what we hear, the makers are going all out to make it a massy entertainer on a larger-than-life scale.
