Padmavati trailer: Ranveer Singh’s cruel intensity, Shahid Kapoor’s Rajput warrior avatar and Deepika Padukone’s ethereal beauty will haunt you for days to come

When it was announced that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is making a film based on the folklore of Rani Padmini, it had everyone excited. Later, when the cast of the film was locked and it was made public that Deepika Padukone will be seen in the titular character, while Ranveer Singh will be seen playing Sultan Alauddin Khilji, however it was the unusual casting of Shahid Kapoor that excited everyone the most. After that when the first character poster of the film was released it sent everyone in a state of frenzy. If Deepika Padukone’s look as Rani Padmini didn’t create enough buzz, Shahid Kapoor’s Mahrawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh’s Sultan Alauddin Khilji’s character poster took the hype to an all time high. In my personal opinion those posters had created enough buzz that even if they hadn’t released the trailer, the film would’ve taken a flying start at the boxoffice.
Anyway the trailer is here and it is everything that you expected it to be. It is majestic, gigantic and truly a magnum opus we all have been waiting for after the sheer brilliance of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. One look at the trailer and you’ll know that it is the biggest Bollywood film in over a decade.
