Movies This Week: Golmaal Again, Secret Superstar

After Saif Ali Khan‘s Chef and Ali Fazal’s Victoria and Abdul failed to make an impact at the box office, two of the biggest films of 2017 are all set to hit the screens this week. Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar and Ajay Devgn – Parineeti Chopra’s Golmaal Again are set to release this Diwali weekend and we have to say, we are quite excited. Not only because of the star cast attached to both the films, but also because both of them look very interesting and are quite different from the other movies that released this year. While Golmaal Again is the fourth part of the hit comic franchise, the Zaira Wasim-starrer, Secret Superstar is an inspirational story.
Not only are all the promos of both the films interesting, but the makers have also avoided a box office clash by having a one-day gap in between their releases, thereby giving both the films an opportunity for a huge opening. We expect the movies to kick start the fourth quarter of 2017 with a BANG and give the trade a huge boost. Diwali will surely be a treat for the movie goers too. # Film: Golmaal Again

Synopsis: The fourth part of the hit comic franchise – Golmaal is different in every sense. Not only does it have more action, comedy and drama, but the addition of supernatural elements makes it even more exciting. The film also sees two new entrants – Tabu and Parineeti Chopra. The story starts off when Gopal (Ajay Devgn), Madhav (Arshad Warsi), Laxman Prasad (Shreyas Talpade), Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor) and Laxman (Kunal Khemu) move to a new, palace like house, in their old neighbourhood. While Gopal falls in love once again and the drama keeps unfolding, the guys also realise that their new house might be haunted by a ghost. They are terrified on experiencing the supernatural elements. Will they be able to save themselves from the ghost? That’s something to look forward to! 
# Film: Secret Superstar

Star cast: Zaira Wasim, Aamir Khan, Meher Vij
Synopsis: Secret Superstar maybe marketed as an Aamir Khan film, but it just has only a special, extended appearance by the superstar. The film actually revolves around a young, school-going Muslim girl (Zaira Wasim) who aspires to be a singer. Her father does not approve of her passion towards music and forbids her to sing. The girl uses a veil, records songs and puts them on YouTube. She gets famous over night and a music director (Aamir Khan), who is past his prime, thinks she is the one who give him a big break once again. He asks her to enroll in a competition, where he is also on the panel of judges. But will she be able to win the competition, fulfill her dream and give the music director a new lease of life? And will her father finally approve of her singing? Well, you will have to watch the film to find the answers.
