Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Padmavati trailer – Meet the top five newsmakers of the week

The week in Bollywood was pretty exciting for all the fans. As it saw some pretty exciting casting announcements. It also saw the report of things not going well between Katrina and Fatima. Hollywood was stirred by sexual harassment allegation to producer Harvey Weinstein and even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a close escape from him. And finally the trailer of Padmavati created havoc across the web.
Check out the week that was:
Katrina Kaif upset with Aamir Khan
Thugs Of Hindostan is one of the most awaited films of next year. The film has a powerful starcast in Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. According to media reports, Katrina is unhappy about the screen space given to Fatima, which is more than hers. It is no secret that Aamir Khan has a significant role in the decision-making of his projects and he apparently got Fatima extra screen time. Gossip-mongers say that Aamir has been coaching Fatima on the sets as well. However, Aamir’s wife, Kiran Rao told PTI that casting Fatima in Thugs of Hindostan was not her husband’s decision alone. It was a joint decision taken by Aditya Chopra, Vijay Krishna Acharya and Aamir. Read the full report here.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s close escape with Harvey Weinstein
The sexual harassment case against Harvey Weinstein has rocked Hollywood and has opened a can of worms. Now according to a report on The Hollywood Reporter, Harvey wanted to meet Aishwarya Rai Bachchan alone but her manager saved her from being a victim. Talent manager, Simone Sheffield, was quoted in the report as saying, “I use to manage Indian actress Aishwarya Rai. While dealing with Harvey I found it comical how hard he tried to get Aishwarya alone. But he was a pig… looked and acted like a big bully pig. He asked me to leave the meeting numerous times and I politely declined. When we were leaving his office, he cornered me and said, ‘What do I have to do to get her alone?’ I told him to kiss my black ass. When Ash and I returned to our hotel, I sent Harvey a steel pig trough filled with DIET COKE as a thank you gift for the meeting. Yes, we did do business and yes, he eventually threatened me. Told me I’d never work in this business, blah blah blah…what I said to him, I can’t print. But you can be sure, I never gave him the opportunity to even breathe on my client.” Read the full report here.
Priyanka Chopra in P.T. Usha Biopic
As per the latest buzz, Malayalam filmmaker, Revathy S Varmha, who is gearing up to direct the biopic of popular athlete PT Usha is keen on casting PeeCee in the lead role. Revathy also quoted that Priyanka will remain her first choice. Bobby Deol in Salman Khan’s Race 3
Finally the third lead in Salman Khan’s Race 3 is finalised. Surprisingly and excitingly enough it will be Bobby Deol. Ramesh Taurani took to Twitter to make the announcement as he wrote, “Welcome to the family #BobbyDeol @BeingSalmanKhan @Asli_Jacqueline #Race3 #Eid2018”. Quote retweeting his tweet, Bobby Deol expressed his excitement about being a part of Race 3. Padmavati trailer
Finally the trailer of Padmavati released and created a havoc at the box office. When the first character poster of the film was released it sent everyone in a state of frenzy. If Deepika Padukone’s look as Rani Padmini didn’t create enough buzz, Shahid Kapoor’s Mahrawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh’s Sultan Alauddin Khilji’s character poster took the hype to an all time high. In my personal opinion those posters had created enough buzz that even if they hadn’t released the trailer, the film would’ve taken a flying start at the boxoffice. Anyway the trailer is here and it is everything that you expected it to be. It is majestic, gigantic and truly a magnum opus we all have been waiting for after the sheer brilliance of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. One look at the trailer and you’ll know that it is the biggest Bollywood film in over a decade. Check out the trailer here.
