The first teaser of Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited movie ‘Airlift’ is out. The actor, who has impressed his fans with his roles in ‘Baby’, ‘Special 26’ and ‘Holiday: A Soldier is never off duty’ is ready with another edge of the seat thriller.
Akshay Kumar, who is busy wrapping up the last schedule of Airlift in Rajasthan, tweeted the first look of his movie to his fans today (November 18).
The film, which has Nimrat Kaur playing his wife, is based on biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Gulf War in the 90s.
The teaser opens with an intense looking Akshay Kumar introducing the audience to his character Ranjit Katiyal, a powerful Indian origin businessman based in Kuwait. But then things go terribly wrong for the Indians in Kuwait post Iraq’s invasion of the oil rich country in August 1990.
Set in the backdrop of the 1990 Gulf war, the movie is based on the true story of the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait in the 90s.
Tweeting the link, Akshay Kumar said the movie is very special to him.
Airlift, which has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kishan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani, is directed Raja Krishna Menon.
The movie is going to release on January 22, 2016, just four days before Republic Day.
