Inspector Arjun Rajane of Oshiwara police station said, "We will be calling them for a statement soon. The singers are not in town right now but they have been summoned."
An FIR has been filed against singers Ankit Tiwari,
Akriti Kakkar, Shilpa Rao and Ankur Tiwari by US based event management
firm for cheating, at Oshiwara Police station. According a report in
Mirror, the complainant, Deep Kumar Vora, manager at Deep VIP
Travels, claims in the FIR that he got in touch with Ankit Tiwari two
years ago and the singer was roped in to do a show for them. Akriti
Kakkar too had joined him. In fact a sum of Rs 30 lakhs was paid to his
firm Brotherhood Entertainment, co-owned by Ankur Tiwari and Shilpa Rao.
The FIR states that once the money was paid to them, it’s been two years they are yet to perform or even respond on the same. Deep states that even after flying down to Mumbai to sort the matter and speaking to them, they didn’t budge. During the meeting he had asked them to either return the money or perform for the show, but to no avail. Deep said that it was after that he was “compelled to file an FIR against them.”
