Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 to go off air by October 23
Zayed Khan's Haassil and Namik Paul's Ek Deewana Tha will replace Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 in the 9 pm slot
It’s time to say good bye to our favorite show Kaun Banega Crorepati 9.
We know it was always meant to be a finite series but it still feels
bad to realize that we will no longer get to watch the show at 9 pm. Amitabh Bachchan‘s
show has been topping the charts ever since it premiered on television
on August 28. It has clocked constantly in the range of above 3 and the
episode that showed the winner Anamika Majumdar earned a TRP of 4 and
3.9 respectively. It entertained the youngsters and adults alike with
its unique content.
Big B welcomed winners like the Indian Women’s Cricket Team on the show. Fans were thrilled to see the likes of Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana on the programme. Then, we had PV Sindhu who has emerged as one of young India’s sporting icons. They also invited Anand Kumar of Super 30, an initiative that helps students from lesser fortunate backgrounds prepare for the IITs. Even the aam aadmis that came on the show were socially conscious and wanted to do something better for those around them. It is its positive content that struck a chord with people.
The iconic show will now be replaced with two brand new shows viz Ek Deewana Tha and Haassil. While the former is a dark romantic show with a supernatural element that stars Namik Paul, Donal Bisht and Vikram Singh Chauhan; Haassil, a romantic thriller, marks the television debut of Zayed Khan. It also stars Vatsal Seth and Nikita Dutta. The shows will start airing from October 23 in the time slot (9-10:30) occupied by Kaun Baenga Crorepati.
